After the revelation of changing the answer sheets of 50 candidates in PCS-J Main Examination-2022, the Allahabad High Court has given three weeks’ time to the Public Service Commission to file a counter affidavit on the demand of hearing of the service petition as a public interest litigation by the petitioner Shravan Pandey.

This order has been given by the division bench of Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh and Justice D Ramesh. It is worth noting that on July 10, Public Service Commission Chairman Sanjay Srinet had clarified the situation regarding the results of PCS J by filing a sealed report with a personal affidavit in the High Court. In view of the sensitivity of the matter, the court had also banned the publication of the facts of the affidavit.

However, citing the disclosure of changing the copies of the main examination of PMCJ, senior advocate SFA Naqvi filed an amendment petition with a supplementary affidavit on behalf of the petitioner. Along with this, the existing petition of the service case was converted into a public interest litigation and a hearing was demanded. It was argued that the corruption in the recruitment process has raised a big question on the purity and transparency of the commission’s examination. This matter is related to the interests of thousands of students. The future of the competitors is in danger.

However, the court termed this demand of the petitioner as unnecessary and said that the doors of the court are always open for every victim. Whoever is a victim can file a petition himself. However, during the hearing on Friday, the petitioner reiterated his demand and insisted on hearing in the form of a public interest litigation. On this, the court has given three weeks’ time to the Public Service Commission to file a reply on the amendment petition filed along with the supplementary affidavit of the petitioner. On this, the petitioner will be able to file his reply in a week. Now the case will be heard after four weeks.
